When Borås cut the lead to 5–3, Flink responded just six seconds later. It was a tougher week for the U18s. The team lost 3–6 to Linköping and 0–6 away to Rögle. Against Linköping, IK scored two shorthanded goals through Isac Ketola and Valter Johansson. In the Rögle game, Fabian Möller came under heavy pressure and made 46 saves. From an IK perspective, the U20 side’s scoring depth is the week’s most encouraging sign. Several juniors made an immediate contribution in the opener, although coach Kalle Linnsand noted that the team needs to cut down on mistakes in possession. The U18s, meanwhile, still have ground to make up against strong regional opposition. Even so, there were positives to take away: the two shorthanded goals against Linköping and Möller’s workload against Rögle.
