Karlsson joined IK from Nybro during the season in the trade that sent Eero Savilahti the other way. After his time in Oskarshamn, he continued his playing career with Denmark’s Odense Bulldogs.
The move into officiating came into focus after his plans to become a police officer did not materialise. Karlsson believes the new role in hockey could suit him.
