IK have secured much-needed help for a thin blue line. The club have agreed a dual-registration deal with Örebro Hockey for 19-year-old defenceman Theodor Hallquisth. Hallquisth joins immediately and, according to IK, will be available at home to Östersund tonight and away to Södertälje tomorrow. With two games in two days, the arrangement provides an immediate extra option in defence. The 19-year-old also arrives with recent experience at this level. Last season, he played 30 HockeyAllsvenskan games for Troja-Ljungby, and he has also featured for Örebro in the SHL. For now, the arrangement covers this weekend’s games. It is a response to the current need on the blue line, not confirmation of a permanent addition. The shape of the partnership and Hallquisth’s availability for the rest of the season have yet to be determined.
