IK U18 suffered a difficult finish away to HV71, but the 5–7 scoreline does not tell the whole story. After trailing 2–3 in the first period, IK turned the game around in the second. Hugo Andersson equalised early with his third goal of the season and Alvin Winst made it 3–4 on the power play, a lead IK carried into the second intermission. HV71 tied it early in the third, but IK responded again when Anton Johansson Lissel scored for 4–5 after just over twelve minutes. HV71 did not draw level again until five minutes remained and took the lead only 37 seconds later. Late IK penalties then disrupted the comeback attempt, with 7–5 arriving on a five-on-three with a minute and a half left. Isac Ketola and Kalle Svensson scored IK’s other goals. In the club’s official junior update, coach Philip Elander highlighted a much stronger competitive effort than in the earlier 1–7 loss to Tingsryd. IK next hosts Linköping on Thursday before travelling to Rögle on Saturday.

IK U18 let the lead slip in 5–7 loss to HV71
IK U18 twice fought back against HV71 and led both 4–3 after two periods and 5–4 in the third before late goals and penalties turned the game into a 5–7 loss. Hugo Andersson scored his third goal of the season, while Isac Ketola, Kalle Svensson, Alvin Winst and Anton Johansson Lissel also scored for IK.
