IK U18 endured a tough finish away to HV71, but the game was far closer than the 5–7 scoreline might initially suggest. After trailing 2–3 following the first period, IK turned the game around in the second. Hugo Andersson tied it early with his third goal of the season, before Alvin Winst made it 3–4 on the power play—a lead IK carried into the intermission. HV71 equalised early in the third, but IK responded again when Anton Johansson Lissel scored to make it 4–5 just over twelve minutes into the period. The next equaliser did not arrive until five minutes remained. Just 37 seconds later, HV71 took the lead, and late IK penalties made the push for another equaliser considerably harder. The final goal for 7–5 came five-on-three with a minute and a half remaining. IK’s other goals were scored by Isac Ketola and Kalle Svensson. In the club’s own Juniorkollen, U18 coach Philip Elander highlighted a clear difference from the earlier 1–7 defeat to Tingsryd: against HV, the team competed for every puck and stayed in the battle for points all the way.
